100km Swim Challenge

Alan's 100km swim challenge..

In October last year Alan lost his good friend John suddenly to cancer.

In memory of John he will be taking on the challenge of swimming 100km during the month of October.

John's wife Angie has kindly nominated Siblings United as the beneficiary charity of Alan's fundraising.

We are hugely grateful to Angie and Alan for their support and wish Alan the very of luck in completing his challenge.

This is an extremely tough challenge and is certainly not to be underestimated.

To put it into context 100km over October in a standard 25m pool works out to be 4000 lengths !

That's 129 per day ! (if we've got our math’s right !)

In talking to Alan he mentions his previous experience taking part in Ironman events, we also spoke to our own Ironman Ian about the difficulty of this challenge, his response was simply "wow! that sends shivers down my spine !"

We hope to be able to post updates on our Facebook page during October as Alan progresses through his swim.

Go for it Alan, we're very proud of you.
